Where The Wild Things Are

Ok so my friend Tami has just informed me of a terribly exciting event... Spike Jonze has made what looks like an unbelievable movie version of the children's classic story, Where The Wild Things Are. Is this going to be the Labyrinth for our kids generation? Let's hope so...here's the trailer

Twit a Whooo

So week one in blogdom has passed and I am already all the richer in my blog knowledge. While exercising my mouse I finally succumbed to the Twitter sign up page; so come on, can someone please explain why we need to know the tiniest details of everyone? Does this mean that we are making nosy-parkers socially acceptable now?

I am completely guilty I will admit it, I did sign up. Now I can keep in touch with everyone from my sister to Al Gore. I am still a little bewildered by it though... Do I share whether I washed my hair, if Jack ate all his dinner or which side I woke up on? Isn't there a section of Facebook that 'Twitters' already? Is this all just the biggest waste of time or a social phenomenon for people who are far too busy to even write emails now?

A couple of weeks ago I received a lovely thank you card, yes, through the post and hand written. It made me think about how seldom this mode of communication is used now. Texts or emails have taken over and the personal touch is all but fading. Is it time that we reconsidered this more intimate form of communication or are we all just too fast and furious to stop and take the time to write?

Bandana Bibs

OK so how many of you have a collection of bandanas still lerking in the bottom drawer, saved from the days of wearing them bandito-style when it was oh so super-cool? Now that the trend is (thankfully) passed, and you have a little person in your life (who loves to vom on your shoulder JUST when you are about to head out the door for that well earned monthly date night), here's an idea that is both friendly to the environment and your pocket. Why fork out $20 for a fancy bib when you can dig out your old scarves and turn them into super-cool bibs!

Max the Graff

I walk past this little guy almost every day on my way to the playground. He is Max from "Where the Wild Things Are"and has made it onto a few walls around our area. If you don't already know this story it is a must for your little one's library. My two girlfriend's, Yolanda and Bel helped me identify him as I would look at him and think, oooooooooooh who is this little one again and it would drive me nuts!

Greystones

Greystones, a quaint village in Co.Wicklow, Ireland is a stone's throw (excuse the pun) from Dublin and a favourite for lunch and a spot of shopping. Check out the Happy Pear natural food market (http://www.thehappypear.ie/) and Eco Shop (http://www.ecoshop.ie/) when visiting. We stumbled across this fabulous shop and I couldn't resist capturing it.

Beautiful Boy

Ok, so I can't help myself... my first inclusion is dedicated to my boys, c/o their Auntie 'Shesha'.
On a recent trip home to Ireland, Vanessa bravely babysat our two little ones and woo-ed them to sleep with her exceptional rendition of this song by John Lennon.

Needless to say they slept like babies...honestly

Welcome to my blog

After a day of playing Mummy to my two precious boys, my evening escape is a daily visit to cyberspace. The days of Saturday afternoon window shopping are a distant memory, but that doesnt mean I can't keep up with what's hot and what's not right? So here begins my collection of super cool things
